Urgent Alert from Defend Dissent and Critical Thinking on Campus
The announcement by the University of Colorado at Boulder Interim Chancellor on June 16, 2006 must be condemned, opposed, and reversed. . . .
We urge everyone to send e-mail letters of condemnation to the CU Chancellor and the Regents, putting the administration on notice as to the gravity of a decision to fire a professor based-no matter what the formal pretext-on the content of his thinking, his inquiry, and his speech. Write or e-mail letters and articles to the Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Education, and other professional journals, and to professional associations such as AAUP, and so on.
